EVALUATION OF THE MGS PLACED 6 IN. BEHIND A 6-IN. TALL AASHTO TYPE-B CURB TO MASH TL-3

Description: The test installation for test no. MGSC-7 consisted of 182ft 3½in of standard W-beam guardrail positioned 6in behind a 6in tall curb. The nominal top rail mounting height for the system was 31in. The 12-gauge W-beam rail segments were spliced in an orientation to reduce vehicle snag potential and supported by 29 guardrail posts. Post nos. 3-27 were 72in. long, galvanized, ASTM A992, W6x8.5 steel sections spaced at 75in on center.
